head inspiration

The original inspiration behind the head came from the film 'FRANK', however the style of head i intend to produce will differ from franks appearance. 
I want the head to be illustrative, and rather abstract, vibrant tones; not realistic ones. 

A friend sent me this image from a play titled 'Christie in Love' by seeing hand productions. 

This head design is more similar to the design i'm creating, however i'm hoping for a more clean outcome, less hand made and more flat and smooth.
