MK Gallery

MK website
The 2011 Milton Keynes Gallery re-brand was designed by Sara De Bondt design studio. The re-brand includes exterior design work (below) with hand painted murals made up of coloured squares with a variety of lined and dotted detail work. The mural represents the visual identity of the gallery which can be seen across the website (above).

The MK gallery doesn't have a singular logo, colour pallet or typeface which the gallery says is to be "in keeping with the varied and challenging art within its walls". The versatility of the galleries branding, such as the variety of fonts the website and gallery uses (as shown below) work well in communicating the versatility of the art that they display inside.

I believe that the versatility and vibrancy of the galleries re-brand really encapsulates all that a gallery should be; exciting, individual, quirky and most of all, catches the attention of the public due to the bright and bold colours and prints, enticing them to view the art within. After looking at De Bondt's re-brand, the idea of a gallery having just one colour pallet, or one typeface seems bizarre, for they aren't displaying the individuality and diversity within the art worlds, where as i believe De Bondt's designs do this effectively whilst all variations still working in harmony together.
