Above are swatches from each of the tie designs,the colours were chosen based off of the colours used within the music videos for example the strong use of warm colours in the culture club video and the use of purples within both the duran duran and spandau ballet videos.
The amount of imagery i was able to find from both the lyrics and the videos translates in to the designs, in my opinion the Girls On Film tie design is the most successful, i believe this was due to the music video which was had a very clear story to it, featuring lots of imagery which i could take inspiration from; in contrast to the True tie design which seems quite bare in comparison to the girls on film tie, a factor in this i believe to be the music video being able to provide me with just the colour pallet as the video just featured the band signing.
However i do think each tie design is successful in capturing the song in a way which only a new romantic/fan of the band would be able to understand, which is what i set out to achieve.
